Coincard 2 Euro commemorative France 2023 - IX Rugby World Cup, in France

The 10th Rugby World Cup kicks off on September 8, 2023, and concludes on October 28, 2023, with the final of the competition at the Stade de France.

The Rugby World Cup is the leading international rugby union tournament. It is organized every four years by World Rugby, the international rugby organization. The tournament brings together the best national rugby union teams from around the world.

The first Rugby World Cup took place in 1987 in New Zealand and Australia, and since then it has grown to become one of the world's biggest and best-attended sporting events. Since 1991, the competition has been held in various countries, including Europe, South Africa and New Zealand.

The tournament takes place over several weeks, with a group phase followed by a playoff. Teams are divided into groups and compete in pool matches. The best teams in each group then advance to the knockout stages, which include quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. The team that wins the final is crowned XV Rugby World Champions.

New Zealand is the most successful national team, having won the World Cup four times (1987, 2011, 2015, 2019). Other successful teams in the competition include Australia (twice champions), South Africa (three times champions) and England (champions in 2003).
