The 2 euro coin features S.A.S. Prince Rainier III, capturing his charisma and stature. As for the 1 euro coin, it features a double portrait: that of S.A.S. Prince Rainier III and S.A.S. Hereditary Prince Albert, symbolizing the continuity of the dynasty. The 10, 20 and 50 centime coins proudly bear the Prince's seal, while the 1, 2 and 5 centime coins feature the coats of arms of Monaco's sovereign princes, reflecting their historical heritage.
Second series from 2006: A new illustrated era.
The 1 and 2 euro coins in this series feature a distinguished portrait of S.A.S. Prince Albert II, signifying a new phase in Monegasque royalty. The monogram of S.A.S. Prince Albert II, a symbol of personal identity and leadership, is engraved on the 10, 20 and 50 centime coins. The lower denomination coins, 1, 2 and 5 centimes, continue to display the coats of arms of the sovereign princes, evoking constancy in history and tradition.
