Description
The Federal Government has decided to issue a 5 euro collector coin with the theme "Polar Zone" in 2021.
This 5 euro coin is the fifth and final issue in the "Climate Zones of the Earth" series and is dedicated to the "Polar Zone". The series began in 2017 and until 2021 one issue per year has been published. The motif for the 2021 issue designed by artist Natalie Tekampe depicts a typical Polar Zone landscape from an underwater perspective. At the center of the design is a diving sea leopard to be seen, as well as a floating iceberg. The giant iceberg shows only its tip, the true size can only be discovered underwater. The motif is surrounded by a translucent pink polymer ring and the inscription "ZONE SUBPOLAIRE". The color of the polymer ring is different each year of issue and depends on the climatic conditions of the climatic zones.
The coin is made up of three elements: an outer ring, an inner core and a pink-colored polymer crown that varies according to the German workshop of issue (a,d,f ,g,j ) with violet-pink nuances.
