As vectors of culture and means of communication, coins function as a kind of time capsule. The annual sets for the Netherlands from 2023 onwards are therefore linked to the (inter)national and personal milestones of that year. In addition, from 2022 to 2025, the National Collection® Annual Sets will focus on the four elements: earth, water, fire and air. After all, the elements are linked to the seasons, which determine our annual rhythm. The series continues this year with the element "water".
2023: the year of...
Years are marked by the special events that have taken place, both (inter)national and personal. Many memorable events are immortalized on a coin or medal. For 2023, these include Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or 50 years of COC recognition.
Perhaps 2023 is special for personal reasons. It could be a wedding, a birth or a special anniversary. This annual set is the perfect way to continue commemorating a personal milestone.
UNC quality
The coins in this annual set are UNC quality. UNC stands for Uncirculated. This means that these are coins that have been minted for circulation, but are not put into circulation. During production, these coins are collected in a metal container. The Netherlands annual boxed set in UNC quality contains the eight Dutch euro coins of 2023.
