Coin design:
This Luxembourg euro coin set brings together the national denominations for the 2021 issue. The reference is presented as a complete annual series rather than as a single commemorative coin.
The French master notes that this series does not include the 2018 commemorative €2 coin.
Historical and cultural context:
The eight Portuguese denominations use three seals attributed to Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. This medieval reference gives Portuguese euro coinage a strong historical identity, complemented by the castles and shields of the national coat of arms.
