Tintin and Snowy first appeared on 10 January 1929 in Le Petit Vingtième, the youth supplement of the Belgian newspaper Le Vingtième Siècle.
Created by Hergé, the young reporter travelled around the world and was later joined by characters such as Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus and Thomson and Thompson.
The albums have been translated into many languages and rank among the greatest successes of European comics. Belgium’s 2019 issue celebrates 90 years of Tintin and Snowy.
