1 Euro Monaco 2007 – Mint Error
Coin design:
This 2007 collector coin from Monaco is part of the official numismatic programme and is dedicated to fauté.
The available technical characteristics and issue data are retained from the master catalogue.
The French master states that only 2,991 coins with the missing engraver's marks variety entered circulation before the error was noticed; the remaining 97,009 struck pieces were destroyed.
Historical and cultural context:
Monegasque coinage is closely linked to the Grimaldi dynasty: princely portraits, the seal and the coat of arms recall the continuity of the Principality and its sovereignty. The different years also make it possible to follow the transition from the reign of Rainier III to that of Albert II.
