The national sides feature new designs accompanied by the country’s name, “SAN MARINO” (San Marino), the year of issue, and the twelve stars of the European Union.
1-, 2-, and 5-centime coins – the official coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino, the City Gate, and the Church of the Capuchin Friars.
10-, 20-, and 50-centime coins – the façade of the Church and Convent of St. Francis, the three towers (Guaita, Cesta, and Montale), and a detail from the portrait of San Marino by the painter Emilio Retrosi.
