Built in the XIIᵉ century on the initiative of Bishop Maurice de Sully, Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral has stood as one of the greatest symbols of Gothic architecture for over eight centuries. To mark the reopening of this emblematic monument, La Monnaie de Paris is celebrating with a commemorative €2 coin. The coin pays tribute to the cathedral's splendor, immortalizing in metal the harmonious lines of this jewel of French heritage.
The coin's reverse features the famous west facade of Notre-Dame: its rose window stands out between the two monumental towers, while the cathedral's official logo is delicately displayed along the scroll.
