Coincard 2 Euro BU Italy 2026 - The adventures of Pinocchio
Description:
The obverse of the coin features Pinocchio, the iconic character created by Carlo Collodi in The Adventures of Pinocchio, depicted dancing in the center of the composition. On the right, his shadow shows a symbolic scene: the famous puppet watches in surprise as the talking Cricket (Jiminy Cricket), poised at the end of his nose, stretches out after telling a lie. At the top, the name CARLO COLLODI appears, along with the dates 1826 and 2026, recalling respectively the writer's birth and the year of the play's issue. On the left is the letter R, the mark of the Mint of Rome, while on the right is the monogram RI for Repubblica Italiana. At the bottom is PINOCCHIO, accompanied by the monogram MB, the artist's signature. The whole is surrounded by the twelve stars of the European Union.
