Theme: 2 € commemorative Belgium 2016 on the theme of International Missing Children's Day
Circulation : 1,000,000 copies.
Belgium marks International Missing Children's Day with the "Child Focus" coin issued in memory of all. Child Focus is the common name of the European Centre for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children. The people at Child Focus offer psychological and legal support to the victims of these events (both children and their parents). They also monitor their cases and ensure that, in some cases, they are treated with care by the people in charge. Finally, they help and spread information about missing children by publishing their photos and descriptions in newspapers, magazines...The image of the child on the coin belongs to Liam Vanden Branden, who disappeared twenty years ago. Liam is the youngest child to have disappeared in Belgium who has not yet been found, and embodies all missing children. The inner part of the coin shows the child's face surrounded by the inscription "MISSING-DISPARU-Vermist", "WWW.CHILDFOCUS.BE" and the trilingual nationality indication "BELGIQUE-BELGIE-BELGIEN.
