Theme: 70th anniversary of the incorporation of the Dodecanese into Greece
Description
The design features a rose at its center, the emblem of Rhodes, inspired by a coin minted in the ancient city of Rhodes - one of the most emblematic coins of the Dodecanese - encircled by stylized waves. The inscriptions "1948-2018 RATTACHEMENT DU DODÉCANÈSE À LA GRÈCE" and "RÉPUBLIQUE HELLÉNIQUE" appear along the inner edge (in Greek). A palmette (the mint mark of the Greek Mint) can also be seen on the lower left and the artist's monogram (George Stamatopoulos) on the lower right.
