Coincard 2 Euro Luxembourg 2024 - 100 years of the introduction of the Feierstëppler franc
Design description:
In 2024, Luxembourg celebrates the centenary of the introduction of the Franc Feierstëppler with a commemorative 2 euro coin. This special issue marks an important moment in Luxembourg's monetary history, recalling the country's transition to its own currency in 1924, a significant milestone in its economic development and autonomy.
The artistic design highlights the number "100", symbolizing the centenary. The number "1" is ingeniously integrated into the silhouette of a 1 franc coin, linking past and present. This representation is enriched by the addition of a commemorative stamp from 1924, the year the franc was introduced, adding a historical dimension to the coin.
The second "0" of the number "100" is skilfully embellished with the monogram of Grand Duke Henri, creating a fusion between Luxembourg's monetary history and its current identity. This integration underlines the continuing role of the monarchy in the country's national history.
The legend "FEIERSTËPPLER", engraved on the lower part of the coin, pays tribute to the nickname given to the Luxembourg franc, evoking a sense of pride and nostalgia. At the top, the name "Luxembourg" and the year of issue "2024" frame the design, anchoring the coin in its contemporary context while celebrating a century of monetary heritage.
Presence of the "KNM : Monnaie des Pays-Bas" mint mark
