2 € commemorative coin Portugal 2013 commemorating The 250th anniversary of the Clerks' Tower, classified as a national monument and considered an emblematic building of the Baroque style in Portugal
The inner part of the coin shows the Clerks' Tower in a perspective view, and on the background is a representation of the city of Porto seen from the river.
On the top the inscription 250 ANOS TORRE DOS CLÉRIGOS 2013, and on the right the name of the country and the coat of arms of Portugal.
On the left, the workshop mark "INCM" and the name of the graphic designer "Hugo Maciel" are shown along the lower edge of the coin.
A landmark in the city of Porto, construction began on the Clercs Tower, designed by Tuscan architect Nicolau Nasoni following a request made by the Irmandade Clercs Pobres (Brotherhood of Poor Clerics), in 1754. The result was an imposing work completed in 1763, with 240 steps, 6 levels and a height of 75 meters.
