In September 2020, the Republic of San Marino is issuing its second commemorative €2 coin of 2020 in memory of the rococo painter Giambattista Tiepolo, who died 250 years ago
The coin features the bust of an angel on the left, reminiscent of the painting "Hagar and Ishmael in the Desert" of 1732. Tiepolo was the most important Venetian painter of the late Baroque and Rococo periods. The dates "1770" and "2020" and the issuing country "SAN MARINO" are indicated below the design on the right. The author's initials Claudia Momoni CM are visible at bottom left.
