In 2021, we pay tribute to the Belgian franc, Luxembourg franc and Dutch guilder, which have been legal tender in the Benelux for centuries. The theme of the series is "20 years of farewell to national currencies in the Benelux". On the cover, you can find out more about the latest banknote and coin denominations, and the 2002 exchange rate against the euro.
The Benelux 2021 boxed set includes all 24 BU-quality euro coins from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In addition, the set contains an exclusive medal with a diameter of 30 mm. The obverse of the medal features stylized representations of the Belgian franc, Dutch guilder and Luxembourg franc, with the years 2001 and 2021 and the text "1 BE NE LUX". On the reverse, the words "FRANK GULDEN FRANCS" slowly disappear into a grid, with an inscription of the word "Adieu": goodbye!
