Largo Winch is one of the most emblematic heroes of French-Belgian comics. His story began in the 1970s, when Jean Van Hamme imagined a series of English-language novels centered on a young billionaire of Yugoslav origin, caught up in a world of power and mystery. Although these books were moderately successful, Van Hamme soon sensed that Largo Winch would shine in another world: the world of comics.
In 1990, Van Hamme teamed up with cartoonist Philippe Francq, giving birth to a cult work combining adventure, suspense and financial intrigue. Largo Winch becomes a modern hero, propelled to the head of a huge business empire where betrayals, rivalries and international conspiracies intersect. His universe, at the crossroads of economic thriller and human drama, appeals to a wide audience worldwide.
With millions of albums sold and translated into numerous languages, the saga has become a cultural phenomenon. What sets Largo Winch apart is the balance between breathless action, moral reflection and economic realism.
