Description :
This year, the Monnaie de Paris is honoring the "XIII" comic strip drawn by William Vance (and Jean Giraud for one album), based on scripts by Jean Van Hamme. The series is a thriller set in the USA, about a hunted amnesiac in search of his identity. The creators stopped after 19 albums, but two new albums are due for release in 2011, which is already considered the "XIII year" in the world of comics. The front features the hero's profile with the number "XIII". On the reverse, a composition of comic strip vignettes features key characters from the series: Jones, Mongoose..
Composition of the box :
The comic strip "The Day of the Mayflower" numbered to 1313 copies with an original cover by Monsieur I.JIGOUNOV.
Our XIII medal, numbered to 1313 copies and, like last year, in the shape of a comic bubble.
A reproduction of the "Maximilien 1er" coin in a nod to the "L'Or de Maximilien" album.
The box itself, an original pencil drawing by Monsieur I. JIGOUNOV created exclusively for the Monnaie de Paris.
