France 2026 FDC series
The France 2025 series, presented in an annual boxed set by the Monnaie de Paris, brings together the eight French euro coins minted in FDC (Fleur de Coin) quality. These modern yet emblematic coins feature five different designs on their national face, including the "FR" (France) issuer code, the year of issue and the twelve stars of the European Union.
The 1, 2 and 5 centime coins feature a portrait of the new Marianne, young and feminine, embodying the hope of a strong, sustainable Europe. The 10-centime coin features Simone Veil, a leading figure in European politics and a campaigner for women's rights. The 20-centime coin pays tribute to Joséphine Baker, resistance fighter and feminist and anti-racist activist. The 50 centimes feature the portrait of Marie Curie, French scientist and two-time Nobel Prize winner.
The 1 and 2 euro coins feature a Union tree, symbolizing life, growth and sustainability, positioned in the center of a hexagon. The Republican motto "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité" is inscribed on the leaves, representing the rise of France. The year of issue appears at the bottom, between the stars symbolizing Europe. This series pays tribute to the great French figures and their contribution to the identity and values of Europe.
