Description

FRONT

It features a work by English designer Michael Turner, reproducing a phase of the race for the 2nd Italian Grand Prix, held on September 10, 1922 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. In the foreground, the cars of Pietro Bordino, who won the race in a Fiat 804, and Pierre de Vizcaya, who finished third in a Bugatti T29, appear on the straight. On the right are the grandstands for the public, while on the left is the exit from the "Curva Sud" and the third car, that of Guido Meregalli in a Diatto type 20S. In the circle, the inscription "RÉPUBLIQUE ITALIENNE" (ITALIAN REPUBLIC).

REVERSE

In the center, the official Autodromo Nazionale Monza logo and the dates "1922-2022", respectively the year the racecourse was built and the year the coin was issued. Right and left, the modern grandstands of the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Above, in the circle, the inscription "100th ANNIVERSARY AUTODROMO"; on the left, the name of the author, A. VECCHIO; in the exergue, "R", identification of the Mint of Rome and the value "5 EURO".
