Vatican 2026 Set – 8-Piece Set of Leon XIV Euro Coins

A New Chapter in Vatican Numismatics

The first euro set issued during the pontificate of Leo XIV, this 2026 series brings together all eight circulating denominations—from 1 centime to 2 euros—in Proof quality. Through its coins and presentation, it celebrates the identity of the new pope and the symbols associated with him.

Designed by Daniela Longo, the series combines the papal portrait with the papal coat of arms in a fresh composition. The various denominations thus form a cohesive whole, designed around the spiritual and heraldic themes of Leo XIV.

A presentation case in the colors of the papal coat of arms

The box set features an ivory-colored cover, on which the coat of arms appears in relief with a chalk-effect finish. A deep blue highlights the inscriptions and graphic elements, echoing the colors found in the pontiff’s shield.

This presentation gives the series a unique visual identity, which is set to be carried forward in the packaging of future Vatican numismatic issues.

Motifs Rich in Meaning

The 2-euro coin notably features the lily, a symbol of purity and devotion to the Virgin Mary, as well as a flaming heart pierced by an arrow, set above an open book. Inspired by Augustinian spirituality, this composition evokes the transformative power of the Word of God.

With its inaugural year and packaging dedicated to Leo XIV, this set naturally finds its place in a collection of Vatican coins or euro series.
