2 Euro AUSTRIA 2005 Austrian Treaty

Austria on the 50th anniversary of the Austrian State Treaty (50 Jahre Staatsvertrag). The outer ring features the twelve stars of the European Union. The inner part features a reproduction of the signatures and seals on the last page of the Austrian State Treaty, signed on May 15 1955 by the foreign ministers and ambassadors of the Soviet Union, Great Britain, the USA and France, as well as the then Austrian Foreign Minister, Leopold Figl. The inscription 50 JAHRE STAATSVERTRAG appears above the seals, on the upper side of the inner part, forming almost a semicircle inclined slightly to the right. The year of issue (2005) is inscribed on the lower left. The background of the inner part, decorated with vertical lines, features the heraldic representation of the Austrian national colors (red-white-red). 7 million coins issued.
