Description:
At the center of the coin's core is an inscription celebrating the "225TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ARRIVAL OF THE FRENCH IN MALTA" and an illustration commemorating the 225th anniversary of the arrival of the French in Malta, led by Napoleon Bonaparte. The illustration depicts an allegory of France, draped in a cuirass and wearing a feathered helmet. She is seated next to a lictor beam, surrounded by a griffin and a lion, and holds a spear with a Phrygian cap on its shaft. To the left of this illustration, the word "Liberté" is written in cursive, while to the right, the word "Égalité" is also in cursive. At the top of the coin, the years 1798 and 2023 are inscribed, and below the ground line are the year 2023 and the initials of the engraving artist, NGB (Noel Galea Bason). Finally, on the coin's crown, the twelve emblematic five-pointed European stars point upwards, symbolizing unity and solidarity within the European Union.
