Description:
The inner part of the coin honors the 100ᵉ birthday of Miki Muster, a major figure in Slovenian comics. Although he graduated in sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, it was drawing that soon became his true artistic language. His line, simple at first, became more refined over the course of his career, evolving towards a richer, more expressive style, in the image of his now emblematic characters.
In the 1950s, his heroes Zvitorepec, Trdonja and Lakotnik appeared regularly in the Slovenian press, giving Muster a national reputation. His interest in animation led him to Munich, where he began working on animated films for Bavaria Film in 1973. His meeting with artist Guillermo Mordillo in the 1970s marked a turning point: their joint series of animated shorts was an international success, broadcast in some thirty countries. Muster would enjoy similar success with films based on the character Nick Knatterton, derived from the creations of Manfred Schmidt.
The coin also features the name of the issuing country "Slovenija", the year "2025", and the commemorative inscription "1925 Miki Muster". The outer ring features the twelve stars symbolizing the European Union.
