This set of euro coins for 2024 is produced in a limited edition, with only 500 available. Each set features the town of Pula, the largest city on the Istrian peninsula.
Located at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula, Pula is the largest city in the region, with over 50,000 inhabitants, making it the eighth largest city in Croatia. Pula is renowned for its long history of winemaking, fishing, shipbuilding and tourism. Once the administrative center of Istria since Roman times, Pula ceded this role to Pazin in 1991.
Pula is particularly famous for its ancient Roman monuments, with the Pula Arena topping the list. This large amphitheatre, built between 27 BC J.-C. and 68 AD. J.-C. is one of the best preserved in the world. Made of limestone, it is the only Roman amphitheatre to have kept all its towers intact, and is one of the six largest amphitheatres still in existence.
The euro coin set is presented in an elegant wooden box, accompanied by a numbered certificate signed by the Director of the Croatian Mint, guaranteeing the authenticity and exclusivity of each set.
