The Endangered Species series, a series of collector coins with the aim of promoting the knowledge and preservation of national flora and fauna species threatened with extinction, presents this year's issue of a coin dedicated to the Iberian wolf, by sculptor Luís Valadares.
Once present throughout the national territory, the Iberian wolf (Canis lupus signatus) is currently confined to certain areas in the north and center of the country, and is classified as "Endangered" due to the rarity of its prey and activities.
