This annual series from Finland, limited to just 2,000 pieces, brings together the eight vintage 2024 euro denominations, minted in BU (Universal Brilliant) quality, as well as a commemorative 2 euro coin dedicated to elections, the central symbol of democracy.
Finnish coins feature three different designs on their national side, accompanied by the country code "FI", the year of issue and the twelve stars of the European Union. The 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cent coins feature a heraldic lion armed with a sword, the work of sculptor Heikki Häiväoja, whose symbol has appeared on several Finnish coins, including the 1 markka between 1964 and 2001. The 1 euro coin depicts two swans in flight, while the 2 euro coin features berries and flowers of the lakka, or cloudberry. The commemorative 2 euro coin, dedicated to elections, features a design symbolizing elections as a pillar of democracy, with the Finnish Mint's "FI" mark at the top and the year of issue "2024" at the bottom.
