As vectors of culture and means of communication, coins function as a kind of time capsule. The Netherlands' annual sets for 2024 are therefore linked to the (inter)national and personal milestones of that year. In addition, from 2022 to 2025, the National Collection® annual sets are dedicated to the four elements: earth, water, fire and air. After all, the elements are linked to the seasons that determine our annual rhythm. The series continues this year with the element "Air".
2024: the year of..
Years are mostly commemorated by the special events that have taken place, both on an (international) and a personal level. Many memorable events are immortalized on a coin or medal. For 2024, the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) received a commemorative coin for its 200th anniversary. Later this year, we will commemorate the 750th anniversary of our capital Amsterdam. The 75th anniversary of NATO and the 80th anniversary of D-Day were also immortalized on a medal: all very important events that took place this year!

The coins in this annual set are of UNC quality. UNC stands for Uncirculated. This means that the coins are minted for circulation purposes, but are never actually put into circulation. These coins are collected in a metal reservoir during production. The UNC-quality Netherlands annual set contains the eight Dutch euro coins of 2024.
